Where we have supplied the ZT610 203 dpi
The ZT610 203 dpi is a 4-inch industrial printer that prints up to 104 mm wide at up to 356 mm per second (14 ips). We originally supplied the ZT411 and ZT231 to industrial sites. We began supplying the ZT610 after receiving requests to solve the problem of print position drifting little by little as label volumes grew and line speeds increased.
Because it is a high-investment machine, we have mainly supplied it to large companies and manufacturing lines that can bear that cost. Zebra designated the ZT610 as the successor to the discontinued 110Xi4, and support for the 110Xi4 ended on May 2, 2023 (March 31, 2025 in Asia-Pacific).
A body built to withstand 24-hour lines
The structural parts are heavy-gauge metal, and the bi-fold metal media cover has a large clear window. It uses a heat dissipation design with no vents or cooling fan, so dust does not get inside.
The head plugs into a socket without wires for replacement, and the platen roller is also replaced without cable connections. When the power is turned on or the head is closed, it feeds about 2 labels to set the media position automatically. The upper and lower media sensors are joined as one unit and moved with a single handle.

Barcodes with bars of 4.9 mil or more, such as box and pallet labels or process travelers, are printed at 203 dpi. Built-in font A does not go smaller than 1.1 mm high, so if smaller text or thinner bars are needed, move to the 300 dpi or 600 dpi model.
Steps to configure rewind, peel, or cutter
- First decide whether printed labels will be rewound as a roll, peeled and applied one at a time, or cut. The standard configuration is tearing off by hand at the tear bar.
- To rewind as a roll, or to peel labels and rewind only the liner, choose the rewind spindle option. It rewinds a full roll onto a 76 mm core.
- To cut, choose the front guillotine cutter and catch tray. The cutter is not used together with the rewind or peel options, and labels must be 38 mm or longer.
- To connect to a label applicator, put the applicator interface card in one of the 2 empty communication slots.
Body and memory differences from the ZT411
The 203 dpi max speed is 356 mm/s on both models. The ZT610 weighs 22.7 kg and has 1 GB SDRAM, 2 GB flash, and Gigabit Ethernet, while the ZT411 weighs 16 kg and has 256 MB RAM, 512 MB flash, and 10/100 Ethernet.
The command languages are ZPL, ZPL II, and XML printing. EPL is not on the supported list, so formats made in EPL on a ZT411 203 dpi are converted to ZPL before moving them over.
Connection ports and power
USB 2.0, RS-232 serial (DB9), Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.1, 2 front USB host ports, and an NFC tag are standard. The 802.11ax Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless card and the IEEE 1284 parallel port are options, and power is 250 W rated, auto-ranging 90-265 V.
