600 dpi and RFID, found only on the 110Xi4 in the Xi4 series

The 110Xi4 is the 4-inch model in the Xi4 series and prints up to 104 mm wide. The 110Xi4 was the only Xi4 that could be ordered with a 600 dpi printhead in addition to 203 dpi and 300 dpi, and the RFID reader/encoder option was also available only on the 110Xi4. A model with RFID built in as standard was released separately under the name R110Xi4.

Zebra ended sales on April 2, 2018 (Asia-Pacific December 31, 2019), and service and support ended on May 2, 2023 (Asia-Pacific March 31, 2025). The manufacturer-designated successor is the ZT610.

Speed and first dot position by printhead resolution

PrintheadSpeed setting rangeNarrowest bar (non-rotated)First dot position
203 dpi2.4-14 ips (61-356 mm/s)4.9 mil2.5 mm from the inner edge of the media
300 dpi2.4-12 ips (61-305 mm/s)3.33 mil0.6 mm
600 dpi1.5-6 ips (38-152 mm/s)1.6 mil0.6 mm

The 203 dpi model prints continuously up to 3,810 mm on continuous media, while the 600 dpi model is limited to 991 mm on both continuous media and gap labels. On 300 dpi and 600 dpi printheads, the first dot starts 1.9 mm closer to the media edge than on 203 dpi, so when moving layouts made at 203 dpi, readjust the left margin first.

Media spindle and printhead cleaning interval on the 600 dpi model

The 203 and 300 dpi models rest the media roll on a hanger, but the 600 dpi model fits the roll onto a 3-inch (76 mm) media supply spindle and pushes it all the way in.

The printhead cleaning interval also differs. The 203 and 300 dpi models are cleaned every ribbon roll (450 m) or every direct thermal label roll (150 m), and the 600 dpi model every label roll (150 m). On the 600 dpi model, if the power is turned off during cleaning, the CLEAN HEAD NOW warning on the display does not clear.

Fuse and RFID model checks

Unlike the 140Xi4, 170Xi4, and 220Xi4, the 110Xi4 is built so users cannot replace the fuse. If nothing happens when you turn on the power switch, do not look for the fuse yourself; send it to the Wooju OA service center in Korea for inspection.

On RFID models, the factory default print mode is RFID MODE, and the minimum width and gap of RFID labels are determined by the tag (transponder) type. When loading ordinary labels, change the mode to TEAR-OFF or PEEL-OFF.

Choosing the ZT610 model to move to

A 203 dpi 110Xi4 moves to the ZT610 203 dpi, which has the same top speed of 356 mm/s, and a 600 dpi 110Xi4 moves to the ZT610 600 dpi. For a 110Xi4 or R110Xi4 used to write RFID tags, see the tag calibration steps on the ZT610R page.
