Small text and thin bars that call for 300 dpi
The ZT610 300 dpi prints 12 dots per mm and produces barcode bars as narrow as 3.3 mil. It is used for product labels that carry lot numbers and expiration dates in text under 1 mm high or small Data Matrix codes.
Speed is 51-305 mm per second (2-12 ips). The 300 dpi models of the ZT411 and ZT510, in the same 4-inch class, top out at 254 mm/s, so the ZT610 is the one that pushes line speed a step higher at the higher resolution.

At 300 dpi, rotating a barcode 90° to print it in ladder orientation thickens the narrowest bar to 3.9 mil. Place barcodes that must have 3.3 mil bars in the unrotated picket fence orientation.

If you print labels shorter than 18 mm in tear-off mode, the ZT411's 12.7 mm minimum is the right fit. Conversely, of the two models only the ZT610 can print continuously on continuous media for more than 1,854 mm.
Reference points for label layout
The nominal size of one dot is 0.084 mm wide x 0.099 mm long, and the first dot prints 2.1 mm (±1.25 mm) from the inner edge of the media. Printing starts 1.4 mm closer to the media edge than on the 203 dpi model (3.5 mm), so reset the left margin of formats used at 203 dpi first.
The max gap label length is 991 mm, and the minimum label length is 6 mm for rewind and 13 mm for peel.
RFID option on the 300 dpi model
The UHF RFID encoder (EPC Gen2 V2.1, ISO/IEC 18000-63) can also be added in the field to the 300 dpi model. The only ZT610 configuration without RFID is the 600 dpi micro label model, and tag calibration and power settings are covered on the ZT610R page.
