Component labels that call for 600 dpi
The ZT610 600 dpi prints 24 dots per mm, producing 1.6 mil bar barcodes and built-in fonts as small as 0.38 mm high. It is used on component manufacturing and assembly lines to print very small labels down to 3 mm long. The 600 dpi head is available only on the 4-inch ZT610, not on the 6-inch ZT620.
The head's heating elements are a split type that divides each dot in half, with each half measuring 13 x 70 μm. The bar width stays at 1.6 mil even when the barcode is rotated 90°, so it does not thicken with orientation as it does at 300 dpi.

The micro label model has a separate precision print mode, and the extended tear bar presents labels toward automatic label application equipment.
If you need a cutter or RFID, go with the standard 600 dpi model. The micro label model supports neither, and even the standard 600 dpi cutter cuts only labels 38 mm or longer.
Registration accuracy by speed on the micro label model
Vertical accuracy is best, up to ±0.35 mm, when printing in tear-off or peel mode at 2 ips (51 mm/s) or less. At the same speed, batch and rewind modes that rewind the roll give ±0.45 mm, and raising the speed to 3-6 ips gives ±0.45 mm in all modes.
Horizontal accuracy is ±0.5 mm at 2 ips or less and ±0.75 mm at 3-6 ips. If you print edge to edge on 3 mm labels, start testing in tear-off or peel mode at 2 ips or less.

The ZT610 600 dpi's max speed is 50 mm per second faster than the ZT411 600 dpi, and only the micro label model takes narrow 12-20 mm rolls. Download the driver and manuals from the ZT610 driver download page.
