The MU-2400H's strength is high-speed continuous scanning that reads items as they are presented one after another, and the unit is compact enough to sit at one side of the counter. If it must connect to a terminal by RS-232, use the USB and RS-232 corded handheld MU-1100.
Work that involves carrying the scanner around the store belongs to the wireless handheld models. For 2.4G wireless to a PC, it is the MU-1200; if it must also connect to an iPhone or iPad over Bluetooth, the MU-2250B. The 2D models whose specifications confirm QR code and Data Matrix reading are the MU-1100 (corded) and MU-1200 (wireless).
