The Xenon Ultra 1960g is the next-generation corded scanner after the Xenon XP 1950g, with the imager enlarged to 1280 x 1080 pixels. The SR model reads 13 mil UPC up to 654 mm, 164 mm farther than the 1950g SR (490 mm).

Existing 1950g cables plug directly into the 1960g. On the other hand, sites that connected to IBM 46XX POS via RS485 need to choose a new connection method, since RS485 is not in the 1960g interface list.
The UD focus that read 2 mil codes on the 1950g is not available on the 1960g. The smallest codes are 5 mil Data Matrix (35-113 mm) and 3 mil Code 39 (18-174 mm) on the HD model.
Automatic reading distance in the stand
When standing in the stand, the 1960g uses infrared to detect objects and start reading, with a default detection distance of about 8 cm (3 in). Changing the setting to Mid Range makes it detect items about 15 cm (6 in) away.
When lifted out of the stand, the in-stand sensor switches it to trigger mode. This sensor is on in the default settings and is turned off only when using image capture commands.
Aiming and document capture
The aimer is a 525 nm green dot LED, and the illumination is a 2700K white LED. It reads moving codes at up to 4 m per second and also reads codes with print contrast as low as 15%.
It also includes an imaging function that captures A4 documents at 109 PPI. The housing is rated IP52, operates at 0-50°C, and weighs 147.2 g. For migrating settings from the 1950g, contact us.
