The MU-1200 is a wireless 2D scanner that communicates with a 2.4G receiver dongle plugged into the PC, and it stays connected even 60 m or more away in open space. When moving deep into a warehouse beyond the dongle's reach, switch to batch mode to store 15,000 or more barcodes in the unit.
Battery and charging
The battery is 1,200 mAh and takes 4.5 hours or less to fully charge. Scanning once every 6 seconds, it lasts 25 hours or more. The box contains 1 USB cable and the 2.4G receiver dongle.
Real-time mode and batch mode
In real-time mode, the MU-1200 sends what it reads to the PC through the 2.4G dongle immediately. Batch mode keeps scan data in the unit without communicating, so it suits work such as inventory counts that take you far enough from the PC to lose the dongle connection.
Similarities and differences with the corded MU-1100
The CMOS 640 x 480 sensor, 5 mil or more resolution, skew and pitch ±70° read angles, and 52.1° diagonal field of view are the same as the MU-1100. The MU-1200 has a single USB interface, weighs 136 g, and its storage temperature is -40 to 50°C, an upper limit 20°C lower than the corded model.
