The MU-2250B is a MozGear model that puts both Bluetooth and 2.4G wireless in a handheld gun-type (pistol-grip) scanner. On the 2.4G side, it connects by plugging the USB receiver marked 'Dongle' into the PC, and when a USB cable is plugged in, it detects corded mode on its own.
Automatic switching among Bluetooth, 2.4G, and USB
Unplugging the USB cable returns it to Bluetooth or 2.4G wireless, and plugging it back in switches it to corded mode. The same USB connection also charges the battery.
When used with iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, it supports calling up the on-screen keyboard (iOS keyboard pull-up). Keyboard layouts support multiple languages.
Data modes and user settings
There are 2 data transfer modes: real-time mode, which sends as soon as it reads, and batch mode, which collects data and sends it later. Sleep time, sound, and vibration are changed in the settings.
If you are choosing a wireless handheld based on battery life, look at the 2.4G-only MU-1200. The MU-1200 lasts 25 hours or more on a 1,200 mAh battery reading once every 6 seconds, and transmits 60 m or more in open space.
