The DH240 is a TSC 4-inch desktop printer that prints direct thermal labels only, without a ribbon. It prints at 203 dpi at up to 203 mm per second and up to 108 mm wide. Its body is 51 mm shorter in depth and 700 g lighter than the thermal transfer model in the same series, the TH240.
Parcel shipping labels, receiving labels, store shelf labels, and scale labels are the labels the DH240 prints without a ribbon. Labels that need a ribbon are handled by the TH240, and the difference between the two print methods is covered in Direct thermal vs. thermal transfer.
Linerless label module
The DH240 series has a linerless option that the TH240 does not. There are 2 dealer options: the cutter module fully cuts labels, and the tear module lets you tear them off by hand.

Linerless media is 0.06-0.10 mm thick, and the printing environment of 5-35°C and 25-75% humidity is narrower than for standard labels (0-40°C). After loading the media, calibrate the sensor as continuous (Continuous), and in the DH240 driver or TSC Console, change the print mode to Cutter Mode for the cutter or Peeler Mode for tearing.
Button operation on units sold in Korea without an LCD
DH240 units sold in Korea have no LCD and are operated with 3 buttons (FEED, PAUSE, and reprint), 1 status indicator, and 3 icon indicators. The reprint button prints the last label once more.
- If you have changed media, turn off the DH240, hold down the PAUSE button, and turn the power on.
- Release the button when it beeps twice. Sensor calibration then runs automatically.
- To restore factory settings, hold FEED and PAUSE together while turning the power on, and release at the second beep.

Connectivity and memory
The DH240 has 4 standard ports (USB 2.0, RS-232, USB host, and Ethernet). For wireless, choose a Bluetooth 5.0 module or a combo module with Wi-Fi as a dealer option, and MFi Bluetooth 5.0 for Apple devices is a factory option. Memory is 128 MB flash and 128 MB SDRAM, and microSD cards up to 512 GB (FAT32, exFAT) can be inserted.
Its command language is TSPL-EZD, so when it receives EPL, ZPL, ZPL II, or DPL formats, it recognizes the language on its own and prints. A real-time clock is standard, so dates and times can go on labels.
