The ZD611 is the 2-inch model of the ZD600 series, printing labels on media 15-60 mm wide at up to 203 mm/s (8 ips) at 203 dpi. It is 51 mm/s faster than the ZD411 of the same width, and 10/100 Ethernet is built into the unit, so it connects to the network right away without a module.
Display and media dancer found only on the thermal transfer model
The ZD611 thermal transfer model comes standard with a 4.3-inch color touch display and also includes a media dancer that keeps media tension steady. The direct thermal model has 3 buttons and 5 status icons as standard with the touch display optional, and the media dancer is left out only on the ZD611 direct thermal model within the ZD600 series.
The body is 242.9 x 138.7 x 169.2 mm and 1.629 kg for the thermal transfer model, and 220 x 115 x 151 mm and 1.07 kg for the direct thermal model. The ribbon comes in one size, 74 m (33-58 mm wide), and the empty take-up core in the box is also one size, 12.7 mm.
Margins left on 60 mm media
The print width is 56 mm at 203 dpi and 54 mm at 300 dpi, so with 60 mm media loaded, 4 mm at 203 dpi and 6 mm at 300 dpi remain outside the print area. The top speed of the 300 dpi model is 152 mm/s (6 ips), the same speed as the ZD411 203 dpi model even though it is a 2-inch model.
Large core adapters and printhead cleaning interval
The standard roll holder takes rolls on 12.7 and 25.4 mm cores, and 38.1, 50.8, and 76.2 mm cores use optional adapters screwed onto the roll holder. Adapters are parts meant to be installed once and left in place, so swapping them repeatedly makes them loose; tighten the screws only until there is no gap between the adapter and the roll holder.
Clean the printhead every 5 media rolls on both direct thermal and thermal transfer models, and clean the media path and interior as needed with isopropyl alcohol of 99.7% purity or higher. The inner blade of the cutter is not a user-serviceable part, so clean only the outer cover.
Connection differences between the ZD611 and ZD621
In the ZD600 series, RS-232 serial is standard on the 4-inch ZD621 and a field-installed module on the ZD611. There are 2 wireless modules for the ZD611: Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 4.2 (4.1 compatible).
