The G530 is the 300 dpi model in the Godex G500 series, printing 12 dots per mm at up to 102 mm/s (4 ips). The print width is 105.7 mm, a single label is 4-762 mm long, and with the ribbon removed it also prints on direct thermal media.
Its 203 dpi sibling, the G500, takes 108 mm width, 5 ips, and up to 1,727 mm. The difference between the two resolutions is covered separately in 203 dpi vs. 300 dpi.
Garment care label package contents
The care labels we supply bundled with the G530 come in two materials, nylon cloth and satin, and both come in widths of 30, 35, and 40 mm. The ribbon is a care ribbon 40 mm wide and 300 m long.
From our experience handling both materials, nylon cloth is stiff and prints more sharply, suiting labels with lots of small text and barcodes. Satin is glossy and soft; its sharpness is slightly lower, but it is used for premium garments where the feel against the hand matters.
The 200 m roll does not fit in the unit. Because the unit accepts rolls up to 127 mm OD, the package includes an external holder, so the roll is hung outside the printer and fed through the rear feed slot.

The G530 specifications currently published by Godex are the configuration in the upper row of the table. For several PCs to share one unit, first check that there is an RJ45 port on the back.
Ethernet setup program NetSetting
A G530 connected by Ethernet is found in Godex NetSetting, where the IP is set by DHCP or as a static IP. The default password asked for when entering the 6 settings tabs is 1111, and it is changed on the IP Setting tab.
Choose which error items to report and set them to be sent by SMTP mail, SNMP, or both. Firmware updates and factory reset (Recover To Factory Settings) are also done over the network in the same program.
