The PM30 is a smartphone-style Android mobile computer 10.85 mm thick and 165 g including the battery. The 3,250 mAh battery is built into the unit, so users do not remove and replace it; for longer use, fit the PMBooster extended battery case of the same 3,250 mAh capacity.
Charging methods by accessory combination
There are five charging accessories: the single slot cradle (SSC), Ethernet cradle (SEC), 2-slot cradle (2SC), wireless charging pad, and PMBooster, and which charger can be used depends on what is fitted to the unit.

Placed in the 2SC with the PMBooster fitted, it charges the PM30 first and then the PMBooster. Wireless charging is the Qi standard; remove all accessories except the protective case, and any metal objects, before placing it on the pad.
Turning on the scanner and button layout
The scan engine is the ultra-slim 1D and 2D engine (N2601) at the top, and the scan function is off at shipment, so turn it on in ScanSettings before use. Aim so the barcode is inside the green aiming dot to read it; on success the notification LED blinks blue once, and on failure red once. The combined PTT/scan button is pressed for push-to-talk or barcode scanning, and its function can be reassigned.
IP67 housing that withstands disinfectants
Sealing is IP67, and the drop rating is repeated 1.5 m drops to concrete at room temperature (MIL-STD 810G). The housing is tested not to corrode with chlorine-based or 70% alcohol disinfectants, and the screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass. The operating temperature is -10 to 50°C, a lower limit 10°C higher than the PM352, whose lower limit is -20°C.
Wi-Fi models and LTE models
Wi-Fi-only models have no GPS, and LTE models use 1 nano SIM and Qualcomm GPS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou). The rear optical fingerprint sensor is on all SKUs except SKU5 (PM30G3K03DHK0X, a Wi-Fi model). For sites that need one-handed keypad input, we also compare the PM351 and PM352 with it.
