The DS4 is a 3.5-inch keypad mobile computer that Daeshin Information & Communications (MobileBase) released with Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 or Windows CE 6.0. The model in the same DS4 series with Android and a screen enlarged to 4 inches is the DS4A.
WEH 6.5 and CE 6.0 model specifications
The processor is an ARM Cortex 1 GHz, memory is 512 MB RAM and 4 GB ROM, and the screen is chosen from VGA (480 x 640) or QVGA (240 x 320). The keypad is an alphanumeric layout, the scanner is a 1D scanner or 2D imager, and the camera is 5 MP. Wireless is 5-band HSPA+/UMTS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth Class II v2.1 EDR.
4,000 mAh battery and 70 mAh backup battery
The main battery is a 4,000 mAh lithium polymer, and a separate 70 mAh backup battery that users cannot remove is built into the unit. The standard desktop cradle has an extra battery charging slot and Micro USB (OTG), with an optional RS232 port, and uses a 5 V 4 A adapter.
Bumper-type housing and 1.8 m drops
The housing is designed as a bumper type and passed the 1.8 m concrete drop test, and it is rated IP65. The unit measures 77 x 159 x 26.5 mm and weighs 330 g.
Current MobileBase keypad products
The DS4 is not in the MobileBase product list as of September 2026; the keypad models listed are the 4-inch Android 16 DS45 and the 4.3-inch Android 13 DS50.
