The M3 BLACK (BK10) is a Windows Embedded mobile computer with its scan window angled 23 degrees downward, so it reads barcodes while you keep looking down at the screen. The manufacturer M3 Mobile has announced the end of life (EOL) of the BK10 and OX10, so the specifications are kept here for repair and replacement consultations at sites already using the BK10.
23-degree downward scanner and scan buttons with raised bumps
The purpose of lowering the scanner angle is to reduce wrist and eye fatigue during repeated scanning and to keep the LCD in view while scanning. Small bumps on the front and side scan buttons let you find them by fingertip alone, and the button faces are also angled for easier pressing. The engine came as either a 1D laser or a 2D imager.
Anti-slip rubber and metal frame
Anti-slip rubber surrounds the exterior where the hand touches it, and a metal frame supports it inside so it withstands repeated drops from 2 m. The 0.5 m tumble rating is 2,000 tumbles (4,000 drops), with IP65 sealing and an operating temperature of -20 to 60°C.
Display, keypad, and battery configurations
The 3.5-inch LCD came in two types, VGA (480 x 640) and QVGA (240 x 320), and the keypad in two types, 34-key alphanumeric and 53-key QWERTY. The battery is a 3.7 V lithium polymer smart battery, 3,400 mAh standard and 5,100 mAh extended. The operating system is Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 or Windows CE 6.0, and the 5.0 MP autofocus camera has a flash for dark work areas.

Business programs for Windows CE and WEH 6.5 do not run as they are on Android, so plan the program migration schedule as well.
