The Granit 1911i is a wireless industrial 2D scanner that connects to its charging and communication base over Bluetooth v2.1 Class 1. Within 100 m line of sight of the base, it sends the data it reads to the PC, and the scanner weighs 390 g.

Both models have an 838 x 640 pixel imager, IP65, and a size of 133 x 75 x 195 mm. The lower operating temperature limits (-30°C, -20°C) both apply when using the optional industrial cable.
How the base link works
Up to 7 scanners connect to one base. On lines that use only one scanner, pair it in Locked Link mode; placing another scanner in a base locked this way only charges it and does not change the link.
To switch to a different scanner, first release the existing link by scanning the Unlink Scanner barcode. To replace a broken or lost scanner, scan the Override Locked Scanner barcode with the new scanner and then place it in the base.
Link status is told by the beep when scanning. 1 beep means it is linked to the base, and 3 beeps mean it is not yet linked.

The battery is tuned for 14 hours of use with Honeywell Shift-PLUS power management, so lines that run several consecutive shifts alternate spare batteries. Even if the scanner moves in and out of -20°C areas, it charges only within the temperature range in the table.
Base durability and PC connection
The base is rated IP51, a lower dust and water rating than the scanner's IP65, and is designed for 50 drops from 1.2 m to concrete (at -20°C) and 5,000 tumbles at 1 m. It measures 250 x 103 x 65 mm and weighs 290 g.
The PC connection is made from the base using one of USB, keyboard wedge, or RS-232 TTL. The 1911i base has a paging function used to find a misplaced scanner.
The 1911i read engine is an 838 x 640 pixel area imager. The only read range chart the manufacturer has published is for the 1911iER (extended range focus) model, so this page does not list range figures.
