A 3-inch model that carries on QL and QL Plus labels
Sites that used the QL or QL Plus move to the QLn320 without changing media or label layouts. The older CPCL commands are built in as they were, so even when QL-series and QLn units are mixed at one site, the printing program does not need separate changes.
Media width is 25-79 mm, rolls go up to 66 mm OD, and the print width is 2.9 inches. Besides CPCL, it accepts EPL and ZPL commands.
Managing several units with Ethernet cradles
The 1-bay Ethernet cradle (QLn-EC) charges the battery of the docked printer while connecting it to a 10/100 Mbps wired network. The 4-bay cradle (QLn-EC4) has an internal switch and a second Ethernet port, so 4 of these 4-bay cradles can be chained to manage 16 printers through one port.
Printing works while docked in the cradle. In this state, firmware updates, layout and font replacement, battery status checks, and encryption key changes are handled remotely. Printers with the extended battery fitted do not fit either cradle.

At sites that rotate several spare batteries, use the smart charger, which shows health status, to pick out old batteries.
