The PM450 is a Windows Embedded industrial mobile computer that scans with a trigger when fitted with the optional pistol-grip gun handle, and the 1D autorange laser model reads barcodes up to 5 m away. With both the gun handle and extended battery attached, it weighs 495 g, and the drop rating in this state is 1.8 m to a concrete floor.
1D autorange laser and 2D imager
The 1D autorange laser reads 1D barcodes and postal codes at up to 5 m, and the 2D imager reads 1D and 2D codes including GS1 DataBar. If long-range 1D barcodes are the main task, choose the laser model; to read 2D codes such as QR and Data Matrix, choose the imager model.
UHF RFID module reading range
Models with a UHF RFID reader support reading and writing EPC Class1 Gen2 (ISO 18000-6) tags. The reading range varies from 1 to 4 m depending on tag size. The frequency is 860-960 MHz, set by firmware to match the band of the country of use, and the antenna is an omnidirectional ceramic antenna built into the unit.
Keypads replaced at a service center
There are three keypads: 34-key (numeric, letters with shift), 51-key (letters, numbers with shift), and 57-key (letters and numbers). Keypad replacement uses the Easy Swap method, finished at a service center in a few minutes, changing only the input method while keeping the unit as is.
PM450 operating system and the current product list
The operating system is Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Professional or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Professional, and the specifications on this page are based on the 2013 datasheet (PM450-DS01-WWE). The Point Mobile handheld terminal product list as of September 2026 does not include the PM450 and lists the PM351, PM352, PM451, PM452, PM550, and PM560.
