The DS5 is a 4.3-inch mobile computer family from Daeshin Information & Communications (MobileBase), and the models in all three documents checked use a 5,800 mAh battery. The model names listed differ by document: the 2019 MobileBase page lists the DS5-AX, and the current Daeshin Information & Communications introduction page lists the DS5A and the UHF RFID model DS5A-UHF.

DS5-AX user-replaceable keypads
On the DS5-AX, users swap the 34-key (mainly numeric, F1-F10 programmable keys) and 54-key (alphanumeric) keypads themselves, and there are 4 scan buttons. The battery hot swaps without rebooting, and there is a 120 mAh backup battery inside the unit. The scanner is one of 1D laser, 2D imager, or 2D XLR; the camera is 8 MP autofocus with flash; and it weighs about 410 g.
DS5A-UHF RFID reading range and recognition speed
The DS5A-UHF reads EPC Gen2 (ISO 18000-63) tags with the Impinj R2000 chipset and recognizes up to 150 tags per second simultaneously. The maximum reading range differs: 6 m on the current MobileBase page (varies with tag specifications) and 11 m on the Daeshin Information & Communications introduction page, so set the distance by testing with actual tags. Frequencies are EU 805-868 MHz and US 902-928 MHz, with Russia 916-921 MHz added in the current specifications. The scan engine is the 2D SE4750, and it is also in the MobileBase product list as of September 2026.
